名词辨析是一种比较简单的辨析题，一般只会考察单词本身微妙的差别，这方面需要学生注意每个名词的英文解释，因为有时候，翻译成中文时，几个词的都是同义词，但是内在却差别很大。如：
lodging， shelter ，dwelling ，house
“lodging”寄宿处，出租的房间、住房。a number of 若干
above all 首要，尤其
be absorbed in 专心于
by accident 偶然
account for 说明

take…into account 考虑

“shelter”(庇护所，收容所)，指的是为“无家可归的人提供暂时栖息场所”。
“dwelling”(居住地，住所)。
“house”(房屋住宅)。
life ，existence ，survival ，maintenance
“life”一般表示“生命、生活”。
“existence”强调是“我们活着或者存在的这样一个事实或者方式”，比如“贫穷的生活”(a meager existence)等等。
“survival”强调的是“存活，继续活下来”，或者“从困境中活过来或挺过来”的意思。
“maintenance”大多表示“某种状态的保持”，或者“机器的维护”以及“维持或谋生的需品”。
